Ben Holley Brown, Jr went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, January 2 ^nd .

Ben was a strong Christian man, who lived his life for his Lord.  He was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church as well as the Gideon organization.  Ben was known for his smile, quick wit and great stories of years past.  He was always willing to assist anyone – whether it was a ride to church or to help with a household chore, he was there with a smile.

Ben loved his family and he was happiest when he was surrounded by his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.   His love, respect and unending care for his wife Susie was precious to watch.  He was so proud of his grandchildren, Savanna and Cameron, and was always quick to share a story with anyone about them.  His hobbies included building and flying radio control model airplanes and toys for his grandchildren.

Ben retired from General Telephone Company after 35 years of service.  He was active in setting up the Uloco organization in NC and was an active member of the Durham Engineers Club for many years.

Ben is survived by his wife, Susie Brown, daughter Susan McDowell (Mitch) and 2 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Saturday, January 9 ^th at 3:30PM with visitation at 3PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Gideon's Association .
