Barbara Jean Sweatman ,90, passed away June 24, 2023 in Clermont, Florida. She was born on August 30,1932 to John Sr and Violet (Reichenback) Schmidt in Takoma Park, Maryland.

She married Perry Sweatman Jr. on June 6, 1953 who passed in 2011. She is survived by a daughter Karen Arbuckle (Gary) of Ocala, Florida, and 2 sons Perry Sweatman III (Paz) of Clermont, Florida and Raymond Sweatman (SueAnn) of Peilon, South Carolina. Also 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in passing were 5 brothers: John Schmidt Jr, Paul Schmidt, Robert Schmidt, Uriah Schmidt and Louis Schmidt. Also 3 sisters: Maratha Kinsey, Ruth Boothby, and Margaret Zimmerman. Surviving is a sister Mildred Martin.

She was a member of the Columbia Midtown Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 2nd at 1pm in Columbia, South Carolina at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
