In Loving Memory of Barbara Linkous
Barbara Linkous, a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother peacefully passed away on March 2nd, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion.

Barbara was born on April 18th, 1937, in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, to Marshall and Selma Bailey. She was the eldest of three siblings, including her late brother Jeff and sister Marsha. Growing up in Scotia, New York, Barbara's childhood was filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories with her beloved family.

After high school, Barbara attended and graduated from Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virginia, where she nurtured a passion for learning and a commitment to service. Her journey led her to Vienna, Virginia, where she dedicated herself to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher.

In 1963, Barbara exchanged vows with her beloved late husband, Albert Linkous, embarking on a journey of love, companionship, and shared dreams. Together, they welcomed two sons into their lives, Mark in 1965 and Kenneth in 1967. Barbara's greatest joy was found in her role as a devoted housewife, ensuring her family was always cared for with love, warmth, and delicious meals.

A woman of deep faith, Barbara found solace and inspiration within her church community, where she served as a dedicated member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. Her unwavering commitment to her faith and her community served as a guiding light for all who knew her.

Barbara's love extended to her grandchildren, Walker and Aaron, who brought boundless joy and laughter into her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Known for her passion for Duke men's college basketball and golf, Barbara's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. While she may have rooted for various teams, her loyalty and love for the game never wavered, bringing joy and excitement to those around her, even if it meant supporting unexpected teams to the dismay of her family.

Barbara was characterized by her quiet strength, pleasant demeanor, respectful nature, caring heart, inquisitive mind, determination, and independence. Her presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered.

As we mourn the loss of Barbara, let us celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives and find solace in the cherished memories we shared. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Barbara is survived by her loving sons Mark and Kenneth, Kenneth's wife Eileen, her grandchildren Walker and Aaron, and a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A memorial service honoring Barbara's life will be held on March 18th, 2024 at 1 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W Minneola Avenue, Clermont, Florida.
In the quiet moments and fond memories, may we find comfort in knowing that Barbara's love will forever guide us, inspire us, and bring us peace.

Rest in peace, dear Barbara. Your light will shine on in our hearts forever.
