Barbara Ann Eyerly (née Whitney), age 91, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at Cornerstone, Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida, the city where she was born and spent her life.

 Born on June 28, 1934, in Clermont, Barbara was a proud graduate of Clermont High School, Class of 1954. During her high school years, she was an active and spirited student—participating in the Dance Club and Glee Club, serving as class secretary during her sophomore year, and earning recognition as a three-year letterman in basketball. 

Barbara began her professional career as a teller at Clermont Citizens Bank in downtown Clermont. As the bank evolved—relocating to Highway 50 and undergoing transitions to NCNB Bank and eventually becoming Bank of America—Barbara remained a dedicated presence through its many changes. Her commitment to her work reflected her steady nature and strong ties to the community she loved. 

A woman of deep faith, Barbara was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Clermont. Her belief in Jesus as her personal savior guided her life and offered comfort to those around her.

Barbara’s family was the center of her world. She was first married to James A. Cummings, with whom she had three sons: James R. Cummings of Clermont (who passed away on October 9, 2010), Barry K. Cummings of Clermont, and Craig W. Cummings of Tallahassee. Later in life, she found love again with Robert D. Eyerly, 49 years, who survives her. 

She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of kindness and devotion. Known for her generous spirit and loving heart, Barbara was a mother who would go out of her way to do anything for anybody—a sentiment echoed by all who knew her. 

To honor Barbara's life, a Memorial Service will be held on February 26, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Living Hope Church 1035 7th St. Clermont, FL. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched with grace and compassion.
