Obituary

On July 15, 2026 after a short illness August "Augie" Pinto Silva passed away at the age of 96, he was surrounded by his family. Augie was raised in Wareham, MA until he married and moved to Brockton, MA where he raised his two daughters. He worked as a commercial window washer where one of his jobs left him dangling from a scaffold and landed him on the front page of the Brockton Enterprise Newspaper. Augie loved traveling, and did so globally; he was able to take some beautiful photographs like in his favorite place Tahiti. Augie was able to see his soccer team from Cabo Verde in the world cup which gave him an immense sense of pride, correcting announcers every time they said the name of the country incorrectly. He loved to stay busy with exercising, and spending time with his family and friends; Augie was a kind, generous, and a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He had a sharp tongue, a quick wit, a great sense of humor, colorful language, a feisty spirit and loved telling jokes.
