Audrey M. Harris, 89, Clermont, passed away December 31, 2012 at the Mike Conley Hospice House. She was born February 22, 1923 in Washington County, Florida daughter of Sally Marie Brock & Robert Bigelow Miner. She was raised in the "sure nuf country" of Florida's panhandle and the elegance of Cora and Cecil's home. Audrey graduated from Florida State College for Women before women moved too far from home. At World War II's end, she married Richard Harris. Together, Doc Harris became a Pharmacist in South Lake County. Behind the scene, Mom coordinated the raising of 5 children; prepared daily cooked meals from scratch; owned and managed the Wishing Well antique store. She also did a lot of invisible good in the community. The sick were taken meals - the recent widow/widower/newcomer took meals at the family table. Mom is regarded as an elegant, lovely, and thoughtful lady. She loves Jesus, her husband, Richard, her five children, her nine grandchildren, and her six great grandchildren plus one on the way. Additionally, Mom loved her Methodist Church, God's beautiful Creation and being an American.
We are so thankful for the graceful staff at the Mike Conley Hospice House. They held our hand with Dad and Mom - in Room #3.
