Antoinette (Minnie) Viti, 98, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012. Antoinette was born in Dolton, Ill. on December 22, 1913 and moved to the Clermont/Groveland area in 1940. She was a homemaker and operated Nancy Groves, Inc. with her husband, Gary, for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clermont and was a charter member of the South Lake Hospital Auxiliary. Antoinette served as a volunteer at the South Lake Hospital for over 50 years compiling well over 35,000 hours of volunteer time.
Because of her extensive volunteer work, Antoinette received the Rotary Club 4 Way Tests Award in 1987 and was named the Clermont Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2007. She was also inducted into the Lake County Women's Hall of Fame in 2007 and was designated by South Lake Hospital as a Legacy Honoree for her distinguished record of service with scholarship funds established in her name.
Antoinette is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Viti. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Don Pederson, her granddaughter, Amanda Mitzel and her husband, Shawn; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15 from 6 to 8 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 806 West Minneola Avenue, Clermont, FL.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 16 at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, 950 Seventh St., Clermont, FL.
