Annie Ruth Kirkland, age 82 of Groveland, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 in Clermont, Florida. Born July 18, 1932 in Clio, South Carolina to Alexander and Mary (McColl) Scott. Moved to the area in 1963 from Florence, SC. Preceded in death by her husband, Reavis Kirkland; son, Jesse Clark; daughter, Jean Pate; siblings, Advel Scott, Edward Scott, Jane Paul and Laura Scott. Survived by her daughters, Christine Stephens of Groveland and Kathleen (Scott) Nickerson of Ellenton; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. There will be a visitation held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Becker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Becker Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Suggs of Clay Sink Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
