Obituary

Ann Cleveland Driggs Seitz

May 7, 1929 – February 11, 2021

Ann Seitz, 91, of Clermont FL, died peacefully in her sleep early February 11, 2021. She was born Ann Cleveland Driggs to Claude and Margaret Cleveland Driggs and grew up in East Orange, New Jersey. She graduated from East Orange Highschool in 1947 and married Rev. William C. Seitz Jr. in 1949.  Ann moved to Clermont Florida in 1968 with her husband, and their three children.  They were members of St. Matthias Episcopal Church.  Ann was a homemaker and an involved volunteer.  She was a Pink Lady at the hospital, a Brownie Leader, a band and cheerleader mom.  She drove for Meal-on-Wheels. She sang in the choir and was part of every event at St. Matthias, and later St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg.  She was a member of Pastfinders, a bridge player, an avid reader, and the devoted caregiver for her husband during his later struggles with Alzheimer's.  Ann and Bill traveled every summer for over three decades by travel trailer visiting most of the lower 48 states.   Ann is fondly remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, and her delightful outlook on life.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, John Driggs, and her son, William Edward Seitz.  Ann is survived by her brother Barry Driggs (Susan); three children, Claudia Seitz-Ricklick (Ken), John Seitz (Theresa), and Nancy Seitz; six grandchildren, Amy VanderMeer (Bruce Bender), Tracy VanderMeer, Mary Seitz (Ray Hartung), William Thomas Seitz, Kristin Hardy (Jake Hardy), and Holly Colbert.  Ann was the proud great-grandmother of five: Luca Newby, Josiah Newby, William "Liam" Newby, Raymond Hartung IV, and Melissa Hardy.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Ann's name be given to:

Services are being planned for March 5th at 10:00 AM at St. Matthias Episcopal Church.
