Andrew Matthew Schwandt, of Clermont, FL, unexpectedly passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at age 17.
Andrew was born in Maplewood, MN on November 1, 2000, where he grew up, before moving to Florida for high school. Andrew was a Junior at Lake Minneola High School, with an amazing future that he worked so hard to get. He was incredibly bright, always smiling, and quirky in all the greatest ways. He was the "good one", the "favorite", and of course the "baby". He was our mom's sidekick, and will always be treasured in a bond no one really understood aside from them. He was truly anything you needed him to be at any time. Andrew was a loving son, our baby brother, and an incredible uncle.
Andrew is survived by his mom, Amy Schwandt; sister, Tiana (Jaymie); brother, Austin; nephew, Kaiden; Maria Lynn; father, Matt Grant; grandma, Lisa O'Brien; grandpas, Bob Schwandt and Phil Grant; aunt and uncles, Erica and Ed Grecco, Pat Grant, and Michael Schwandt; cousins, Alexis, Isabelle, and Olivia; many other extended family members; life long family friends Bill French, Rondi Boudreau and kids, and Lisa Mathers; and Andrew's dearest friends John, Quincy, Grady, Vinnie, Isaiah, Owen, Riley, Brad, Bella, Luke, Dylan, Ali, Katelyn, Emma, Stacy, Maddy, Alex, Ryan, Abby, Emilie, Dustin and Mary; and many other loved ones.
Andrew is preceded in death by his grandpa Willie O'Brien and grandma Yvonne Grant.
As most of you know, Andrew has love pouring in from Florida to Minnesota. In light of that, we will be holding a small informal gathering at the Minneola City Hall Thursday, December 14 at 3:30 PM for the friends he's met since being in Florida, for them to share their favorite memories of Andrew. We will have a formal Celebration of Life in his home state of Minnesota on Thursday, February 22 with visitation starting at 3:30 PM, service at 4:30 PM, and dinner to follow at Augustana Lutheran Church, 1400 South Robert Street, West Saint Paul, Minnesota 55118. If Andrew touched your heart at any time throughout your life, we would love for you to be there.
Thank you for the amazing support and love that continues to come in for Andrew's family and friends. We never could have imagined this, and we are all hurting so deeply.
