Andrew Lacek, 91 Montverde, passed away February 23, 2012 at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, He was born in Lieth, Pennsylvania on Dec. 12, 1920 son of Andrew Lacek Sr. who immigrated to the U.S. from the Zakopane area of Poland. Andy served in the U.S. Army following General George Patton throughout Germany in WWll. He met his wife Betty (Fry) while on leave in Plymouth England in 1944 where they were married for 62 years until she had passed away in 2003.
Andy and Betty lived in the Uniontown Pa. area where Andy worked for the US Steel company coal mines until the family moved to the Cleveland Ohio area in 1966 where Andy worked for the Alcoa Aluminum Company until he retired.
Andy and Betty Lacek moved to Florida and lived in the Davenport and later to Summit Greens in Clermont Florida.
Andy enjoyed his involvement in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont Fl.
Andy was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #13240 / Assembly #3025 / Circle #4988
Andy loved to go to flea markets, play golf, play poker, read about history and enjoy time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection for Andrew Lacek will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the Social Hall.
