Allen Edward Keefer, 88, of Kissimmee, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024. He was born in Saltillo, Pennsylvania, to the late Colonel L. and Blanche Keefer.  He had three brothers, and three sisters.

Allen enlisted in the USAF, serving from 1954 to 1958 in France, primarily as an aircraft mechanic.  After his service, Allen and his family relocated to Orlando, Florida, where he worked for 43 years with Martin Marietta Corp., primarily as an HVAC Technician, as well as running his own AC business.

Allen devoted his spare time to his love of the outdoors:  hunting, fishing, and SCUBA diving were his passion.  Allen caught native snakes to sell and to display to elementary school children.  Once, he brought home two lion cubs for his children to pet, as he worked on the Zoo's air conditioning.

Allen was a consummate jokester as his family and friends can attest.

Allen is survived by his wife, Betty; his three children, Diana, Donald, and Deborah; three stepchildren, Randall, Anthony, and Kristie; three sisters, Elsie, Sheila, and Jean; as well as his 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice; son, Thomas; grandson, Stephen; and his three brothers, Richard, Wade and Lesley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, 10am, at Becker Funeral Home, in Clermont, Florida. Allen will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 1:30 in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.  A reception will follow at the family home at 6pm.  The family will receive friends Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 3pm until 6pm at Becker Funeral Home.
