Alice Evelyn Hoover Narehood Meiggs, long-time resident of Groveland, FL, and attendee of The Church of God of Prophecy, Mascotte, FL, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016.  She was born on February 12, 1915, in Pine Glen, PA, to Edward E. Hoover and Geniva A. Smith Hoover.  She graduated from Snow Shoe High School.  She married George Clinton Narehood (deceased, 2000) on June 6, 1934, in Bellefonte, PA.  She moved to Groveland, FL, in 1956.  Their children include the following:  Barbara Louise Moore (Harvey [deceased]), Groveland, FL, Elizabeth Georgine Gaffney (Lester [deceased]), Groveland, FL, George Clinton Narehood, Jr. (deceased)(Genger), Clermont, FL, Edward Milton Narehood (Emily), Lemont, PA, Charles William Narehood (Mary Ann), Groveland, FL, and Kenneth Rhone Narehood (Irma), Groveland, FL.  She also married Roland Meiggs (deceased, 1976), Groveland, FL, in 1961.  Her family includes six generations:  20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, and 7 great great great grandchildren.  During her treasured long-lived life, she was employed as a writer for the Centre County, PA newspaper and a sectionizer for B & W Citrus Plant.  She was also employed at the local Y-ette and the Groveland Community Action Center.  She retired at the age of 80.

Alice was preceded in death by each husband, one child, and five grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held at Becker Funeral Home, Clermont, FL, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, 5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. for family, 6:00-8:00 P.M. for the public.

Funeral service will be held at The Church of God of Prophecy, Mascotte, FL, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, 10:00 A.M.  Internment to immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Groveland, FL.
