Obituary

Alice C. Brooks, age 76, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, she lived in Gotha, Florida. She was born on January 23, 1942, to Charles and Marie Leach, in Mifflintown, PA. She has one surviving sibling; Earl Leach. Preceding her in death were her brothers Wilbur and Arden Leach and sister Violet Hill. She met Tom Brooks and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1972 and worked as a bartender for her entire career, she never met a stranger and was very welcoming.  They married in 1973 and together they shared three children; Tom Brooks, Jr., Penny (Brooks-Williams) Macioszek and Marc Brooks-who she raised from birth.  She was blessed with five grandsons, Seth Williams, Caleb Williams, Cody Brooks, Cayden Brooks and Beau Brooks; and two granddaughters, Bella and Lina Brooks.  She was very close to her Son and Daughter In-law, Tom Macioszek and Angie Brooks.  She met Terry Winstal and with their common law marriage and strong friendship saw her through the rest of what she said was her happiest, over 21 years of a life well lived.

Alice was a bartender and a friend, who loved to spend time with her family and friends.  She worked at several local establishments including Ponderosa, Fast Eddies, and Scores.  She owned her own Sports Bar in Orlando, named Coasters Pub. Alice brought the community near and far together, she ran successful dart tournaments; where people including Alice won several all expenses paid Regional and National dart tournaments in Las Vegas. She gave back to her customers in celebration of the success of Coasters Pub by hosting various events, including complimentary BBQ parties, beach outings where she would rent a party bus and transport everyone together for a picnic and a day of fun, she hosted weddings, anniversaries and other various gatherings which simply brought people together, it was her way of staying humble and expressing her gratitude.  Alice worked hard and played hard.  Alice will be deeply missed by her family and hundreds of friends.

Alice has asked to be quietly remembered, and has asked not to have a viewing or a traditional service but to remember all the good times and the memories shared, which will never fade or die.  The family will travel together in the coming months to her favorite paradise in Marathon, Florida to place her in her final resting place among the tranquility of the sea.  The family would like to thank her friends for giving her a lifetime of love and friendship.
