Alexander Munoz, lovingly known as Alex or Papo, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on August 23, 1948, Alex was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Raquel, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and 60 years of partnership that began as high school sweethearts at John Jay High School in Brooklyn, New York. Together, they built their life, moving to Miami in 1973 before retiring in Clermont, Florida. Alex is survived by his three children, Alex, Christy, and Ali; two children-in-law, Ily and Jerry; seven grandchildren, Eric, Nikki, Caylene, Christian, Caleb, Jules, and Jia; and one great-granddaughter, Elena. He is also survived by his sister, Rita Burnett.

Of Puerto Rican descent, Alex embraced his heritage with pride, particularly through his love of music, enjoying the vibrant rhythms of salsa and merengue. He had a passion for tennis, first as a player and later as an avid spectator. Known for his sense of humor and a stubborn streak that endeared him to those around him, Alex had a gift for staying connected. His consistent calls to loved ones were a reflection of his care and devotion.

Family and friends are invited to honor Alex's life at a viewing on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Ave, Clermont, FL 34711. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 1211 Winter Garden Vineland Rd, Winter Garden, FL 34787.

While his absence leaves an undeniable void, the warmth of Alex's love and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
