Alexander Bauerle, 85, Hawthorne at Leesburg passed away July 13, 2014 at home. He was born June 14, 1929 in Syracuse, NY son of Ernst and Karoline Bauerle. He graduated from Nottingham High School 1948; Middletown State Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 & Adelphi University in 1954. On September 4, 1954 he was united in marriage to Barbara Wheeler. He joined US Public Health Service Hospital 1955-1957; Assistant Director of Nurses Florida State Hospital Hollywood, FL 1957-1959, then moved back to New York and went into business at Bauerle Variety Store in Cato, NY before retiring from Hutchings Psychiatric Hospital 06/14/1988. He was a Rotarian past President and received the Paul Harris Award. His passions were skiing, golf, softball, and travel. He never lost his passion for gaining knowledge. His brother Herbert Bauerle preceded him in death on August 19, 2013.

Surviving are his wife Barbara Bauerle; children Cynthia Ann Barrett, Todd Alex Bauerle, Heidi Susan Hackney and Margo Lyn King; 12 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren.



A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hawthorne at Leesburg in late September. The family suggests memorial contributions to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
