Albert M. "Buck" Claggett, III, 87, of Clermont, FL passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011. Buck was born on September 12, 1923 in Washington, D.C., the son of Albert Francis and Ruby (nee McClanahan) Claggett. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and then was a policeman for Prince Georges County, Maryland, reaching the final rank of Lieutenant. Buck and his wife, Blanche moved to Deltona, FL in 1976 and finally Clermont in February of 1999. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clermont.
Buck is survived by his loving daughters, Penny Leclercq and husband Steve of Ball Ground, GA and Pamela Rose and husband Henry of Port St. Lucie, FL; sister, Frances Flaherty of Delaware; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Albert, David and Summer and 9 great grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey, Bailey, Clark, Colleen, Kyle, Lyla, Violet and Makayla. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Blanche who passed on Monday, February 14, 2011 and his son, Albert Marshall Claggett, IV.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Becker Funeral Home. Pastor Ben Bond officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors being presented. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
