Barbara Thompson Ballance — 1935 - 2010
Clermont, FL — Barbara Thompson Ballance, 74, Clermont, passed away March 7, 2010 at South Lake Hospital. She was born November 4, 1935 in Cooperstown, NY daughter of Albert Thompson & Bernadine Neale Thompson. She was a secretary for Martin Marrietta/Lockheed Martin. On November 4, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Ballance in Syracuse, NY. A local resident since 1971 from Palm Beach Gardens, she was very active in her church, St. Matthias Episcopal, including Daughter’s of the King; served Meals on Wheels and was former vice president of Lake Crescent Hills Homeowners Association. Her son David Lee Ballance preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Robert Ballance of the residence; daughter Patty (David) DeBaets of Auburndale; granddaughter Ashley O’Hara; great-grandson Cole O’ Hara & sister Sandy Racey, Ravena, NY. The memorial service for Barbara Ballance will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Matthias Episcopal Church. The Reverend James Lively will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Royal Palm Cemetery in West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to her church.
