Although I didn't know "Champoux", my brother, Spc. Gregory Gorman spoke so highly of her. She was like a second sister to him. I was so saddened by the news. Although we never met, she will forever hold a place in my heart. Because she meant so much to my brother, I know she must have been a wonderful human being. RIP, Champoux.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this hard time. I was friends with Sophie back in high school and as I told my husband earlier I can still see her walking in the halls at South Lake High and just laughin her head off. She will be truly missed by all as she was such a joy to be around.

I worked with Sophie Champoux in the 92nd. I ran through missions with her in our deployment many times, she was always such a joy to be around. Every time walking to the parking lot, seeing her smoking by the trees, making a funny face at her, she never had a bad word to say about anyone, and though the pain she must have gone through was deeper than she could handle, she was one of the greatest, optimistic people you could know. She is missed so much and may her soul rest in strong arms of her creator. We love you Sophie, always and forever.
